Previous care experience is essential, and a completed care certificate is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering direct patient care.
2. Communicate clearly with patients, carers, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
3. Discuss patient comfort and safety with patients and record communications on Wirral Millennium.
4. Prioritize own workload effectively.
5. Inform qualified staff of any changes in patient's condition or observations.
6. Escort and chaperone patients as appropriate.
7. Consider individual needs when communicating with patients and carers.
8. Perform clerical duties such as filing.
9. Order supplies within agreed stock levels and ensure proper storage.
10. Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality.
11. Assist in the safe handling of patients' valuables and property.
12. Adhere to Wirral Hospital's objectives, policies, protocols, and guidelines.
13. Report patient concerns or anxieties to the appropriate healthcare professional.
14. Participate in ward safety huddles and raise concerns as needed.
15. Support patients in maintaining comfort and skin integrity by assisting with position changes.
