The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is looking for additional doctors to work as part of the multidisciplinary team (HCAs, Nurses, Paramedics, Non-Medical Prescribers) at our Tiverton Urgent Treatment Centre. The UTC sees a variety of injuries and illnesses in all age groups and offers on-site x-ray and point of care testing. We aim to provide care closer to home and relieve pressure on the urgent and emergency care system.
Main duties of the job
* Providing face to face consultations directly with patients, relatives and/or their carers
* Providing patient centred care
* Using point of care diagnostics to support decision making
* Undertaking appropriate prescribing
* Providing onward referral of patients if appropriate
* Working as part of our clinical team to provide primary care support
* Supporting other clinicians in the unit with clinical advice
* Contributing to a positive team ethos

Person Specification
* Full registration with the General Medical Council on the General Practitioner list or Specialist list (Emergency Medicine)
* Clinical experience of primary healthcare in the diagnostic light setting
* Being skilled at managing clinical risk
* Demonstrate clear ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
* Being competent in basic ECG interpretation and musculoskeletal X-ray interpretation
* Experience of emergency medicine or ambulatory care
* Experience in more advanced x-ray interpretation (MSK, CXR)
* Experience in manipulation and reduction of joint dislocations/fractures
* Experience of minor surgery including ring blocks, wound closure and suturing
* Advanced life support or intermediate life support
