We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our HR team as a HR Assistant. This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their HR career and progress to become a HR Advisor. This position is for a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave, and will give a competent HR assistant or administrator the exposure, experience and training required to develop into a HR Advisor position. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Assistant will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive HR support to the leadership team and employees across all Watts Farms businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire employee life cycle and ensuring adherence to employment legislation and company policies. You will be working on a full time, fixed term contract and in return will receive a salary of £30,000 per annum. Some of the key responsibilities of the role will include: Managing the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, appraisals, training, development, and leaver routines. Handling day-to-day HR queries and providing timely assistance to staff and external sources. Monitoring and maintaining key HR metrics, including headcount, retention, absence, and time-to-fill. Advising and supporting managers in handling various HR matters, including ER case management for absence, disciplinary, and grievance. Supporting with HR projects and change programs contributing to the enhancement of systems, processes, and policies. Requirements for this role: Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience with exposure to UK employment law Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proven experience in HR administration Strong organisational and administrative skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. High levels of integrity and commitment to ongoing self-development. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Resilience and adaptability. Driving licence Proactive with experience of working in a fast-paced environment. Working Hours This is a full-time contract working 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility will be required to meet the requirements of the role. The role will be based in Aylesford, Kent. However, some travel will be required to our Farningham site also based in Kent from time to time.
