Closing date: 10am Monday 23rd March 2026
Fairhive is an an‑for‑profit provider of social housing, dedicated to providing high-quality services to over 20,000 people. We currently manage 9,500 affordable homes throughout Buckinghamshire and beyond. With an annual turnover of £82 million and 338 employees, we make a significant contribution to our communities.
This is an exciting time to join us. Our Corporate Strategy, launched in April 2025, outlines our determination to put residents at the heart of all we do, ensuring our services match the needs of our current and future customers, continuing to build more homes to meet growing need, investing in our existing homes, reducing our environmental impact, and engaging and listening to our colleagues.
As part of our succession plan, we are seeking up to four Board Members to join the board and work closely with our executive team to support our ambitions for growth and service transformation, ensuring that our values and culture are upheld to deliver on our mission of creating ‘Homes for living, communities for life’.
One of those appointed will also be Chair of our Development & Assets Committee. This is a high‑performing committee, and you will require previous chairing experience and demonstrate an ability to provide robust scrutiny, constructive challenge, and strategic support.
Board Members are sought not only for their strengths in governance, leadership, and strategic insight but also for their ability to collaborate, inspire, and uphold the organisation’s ethos and values.
In addition to this, we are seeking strategic experience and skills in the following areas:
* Housing development and sales
* Property investment/asset management (possibly including procurement and supply chain knowledge)
* HR and people management
* IT strategy and systems
Applications are welcomed from both housing and non‑housing backgrounds, particularly in HR and IT, where broader professional insight can add significant value.
Time commitment for the role will be approximately 2 days a month. Board meetings take place bi‑monthly in person, at our head office in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, whilst committees meet 4 times a year and alternate being in person and on MS Teams.
We are committed to continually strengthen the diversity of the board, seeking people who bring a broad mix of different skills and perspectives. We are keen to attract applications from the broadest possible range of backgrounds.
If you are motivated to make a difference and ready to contribute at board level, we would be pleased to hear from you.
