The opportunity
Wimbledon College of Arts is looking for an experienced part time academic (0.6, 22.2 hours per week) with an in-depth knowledge of Art Direction and Visual Effects to deliver specialist teaching and academic guidance to students on our Theatre, Screen and Performance Arts programme.
As a Lecturer, you'll assume responsibility for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship within the Programme, with a particular focus on the BA Art Direction and Visual Effects course.
This course teaches students the skills required to be an art director or visual effects (VFX) artist for screen-based entertainment. We aim to equip students with the expertise to shape innovative ideas that will drive the visual identity of film, television, animation and computer games.
As well as delivering stimulating teaching, you'll also support students with their progress, offering academic and pastoral support that will help students to thrive. Working closely with the course team, you'll coordinate the administration of specific units on the course, whilst also contributing to curriculum development, course organisation and management.
Your profile
You'll be a well-qualified academic who has experience of teaching and assessment in a Higher Education environment (or equivalent).
You'll possess an in-depth understanding of Art Direction as it relates to game design, visual effects or animation, pairing this with industry experience of 3D software, concept art and storyboards.
In addition to this, you'll demonstrate evidence of research, teaching, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of relevant activity and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University.
Closing date: 14 September 2025 @ 23.55.
Interview date: 25 September 2025 at Wimbledon College of Arts.
