B&NES Shared Lives Scheme
We are looking to register new Shared Lives carer households in B&NES. Shared Lives is a service where the carer uses their own home and daily life to provide support to people who have eligible needs.
Could you make a difference to the lives of people in your local community by welcoming a person into your home? We want people who are passionate about offering high quality, personalised support to contact us. We have people seeking support with rates offered from £14 to £18 per hour across B&NES. We have specific requests for support for people living in the Bath area to access activities such as volunteering at various venues (heritage railways, charity shops, museums, gardening groups etc) with a Shared Lives carer.
You do not need to have a spare bedroom in order to register to provide day support you do need to have suitable facilities in your home to have a person visit your household for support sessions. Also you do not need to be the homeowner or sole tenant in order to provide support you need to have the consent of the homeowner or landlord. For example a young person living at home with their parents can provide Shared Lives support as long as everyone in that property is happy for them to do so.
The scheme offers full training, the support of a dedicated coordinator and a detailed matching process with potential clients.
There are significant tax incentives available for Shared Lives households, £19,360 per household per year PLUS £485 per person supported per week (up to a maximum of 3 people) income tax-free.
There are several different options for providing support. This role can work around childcare, having another job or as an additional household income.
