<div><h3>Bank Staff Nurse</h3><p><b>Closing date is 12 July 2026</b></p><p>York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is on the look‑out for talented, caring, enthusiastic staff nurses to join our Nurse Bank. You will have the opportunity to expand and develop your skills in different clinical areas, with the option to work across the Trust at our hospitals in York, Scarborough, Bridlington, Selby and Easingwold, as well as our wider community teams.</p><p>To join the Bank you must hold a professional NMC registration. All bank contract workers are required to meet a minimum of 45 hours worked in a six‑month period.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Maintain a high standard of patient‑focused care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.</li><li>Maintain a safe and clean working environment.</li><li>Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.</li><li>Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.</li><li>Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient.</li><li>Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.</li><li>Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands.</li><li>Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures.</li><li>Provide education and training as required.</li><li>Available to work weekday early and late shifts.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications / Person Specification</h3><h3>Practical Skills</h3><ul><li>Ability to organise and prioritise workload.</li><li>Understanding of skills and knowledge required to develop team members.</li></ul><h3>Training</h3><ul><li>Willingness to undergo training as necessary.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate and explain skills to other staff.</li></ul><h3>Special knowledge</h3><ul><li>Knowledge of current issues in health‑care standards of professional practice.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
