Responsibilities
* Assist the Senior Site Chemist and the Site Manager in the execution of the day‑to‑day operations of the site, including the supervision of operatives as required.
* Sample and analyse all materials destined for on‑site treatment, perform compatibility testing and generate written instructions for site personnel.
* Perform daily inspections of the transfer area, highlight (and remedy where appropriate) potential breaches of the permit or safe working conditions, and report them.
* Cooperate with site management to ensure that site personnel, contractors and visitors comply with the site rules.
* Perform sampling and verification of incoming waste chemicals and raise non‑conformance reports as required.
Qualifications
* Minimum of an HNC or degree qualification in Chemistry, or a relevant science degree.
* Ability to overcome problems and find independent solutions.
* Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
* Numerate, literate and computer literate.
Salary & Hours
Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on role and experience, plus Veolia benefits. Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
Locations: Durham, Sheffield, Hampshire, Lancashire, Liverpool.
