Boeing Defence UK will soon be installing state-of-the-art training equipment to support the E7 Aircraft at RAF Lossiemouth. We are looking for a simulation technician to maintain the training equipment throughout its lifecycle and support its installation and introduction into service.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in supporting full flight simulators. Following installation, the successful candidate will provide routine maintenance, fault finding, and repair activities. Mentoring and guiding junior colleagues may also be required.
The facility will operate a two-shift system from 07:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday, to cover the full training schedule, with some flexibility expected.
The role will be based in the new, custom-built facility at RAF Lossiemouth.
Experience working in a military environment would be advantageous but is not required.
This is a technician role supporting the E7 Lead Technician and reporting directly to the E7 On-Site Maintenance Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Support initial installation, commissioning, and operation of the E7 training equipment.
2. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, reconfiguration, and modification of training devices and other electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems as required.
3. Perform system administration and support general IT maintenance tasks for all equipment used in the P8 training service.
4. Administer and troubleshoot servers and networks, maintain system security tools, manage user access controls, and monitor system performance for capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery.
5. Complete system initialization and checkout; operate systems for extended periods; diagnose faults rapidly; log data; and perform system shutdowns.
6. Maintain system documentation and records as required.
7. Perform pre-operations, post-operations, and configuration of training systems.
8. Support major system modifications or fault rectification, which may involve manual handling, lifting, and working at heights.
9. Support annual certification activities using QTGs in accordance with MAA RA3375.
Competencies and Experience:
* Significant experience in synthetic training, ideally in a military aviation context.

The ability to obtain UK Security clearance is essential.
