Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office and working from home.
The Asset Integrity - Built Environment Group is looking for Civil/Structural Consultants to join our specialist team. We’re seeking motivated individuals at a range of experience levels who are driven to make a difference in highly regulated, safety-critical industries.

What You’ll Do
* Work across a wide range of projects and markets, including:
o Nuclear energy (new build, operational fleet and decommissioning)
o Nuclear defence (infrastructure design, substantiation and assurance)
o Renewables (onshore solar, offshore wind)
o Process industries (chemical, hydrogen production)
o Transport (rail, marine)
Skills and responsibilities
* Lead and shape projects, including managing projects from scoping to delivery
* Engage directly with clients to define project needs and opportunities, and develop long-term relationships
* Contribute to the direction and development of our team’s capability, including mentoring junior engineers
* Lead development of capability relative to your specialism and own the development of opportunities and workstreams
* Structural verification and code assessments (e.g., Eurocode, ASCE, AISC) through software and hand calculations
* Hazard assessment (e.g., seismic, blast, and fire performance modelling) and validation studies
* Concept design and feasibility analysis
* Civil/mechanical/electrical interface definition and integration
* Beyond-code assessments and safety case development
* Groundworks and geotechnical assessment
* Decommissioning and enabling works support
* Structural inspections and regulatory compliance
* Lifecycle extension studies, including degradation mechanism analysis
Who We’re Looking For
* A master’s degree (or higher) in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline
* A desire to work on technically challenging, safety-critical infrastructure projects
* An interest in or experience with client-facing consultancy work
* A collaborative growth mindset and willingness to work across disciplines
* Beneficial but not required: demonstrable technical experience in some of the following:
o Code-based assessment (Eurocode, ASCE, AISC)
o Use of structural tools (STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, Robot)
o Seismic or dynamic structural analysis
o Impact/Blast/fire modelling and substantiation
o Hazard analysis and requirements capture
o Authoring or approval roles for safety case documentation
o Geotechnical design or site assessments
o Understanding of inspection regimes and CDM compliance
o Experience delivering to NEC/RIBA contracts and drafting relevant documentation
o On-site inspections and surveys
Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
