Job Title: Experienced Senior Support Worker - Must be Driver of Automatic cars.
Location: Wickford
Salary: £13.26 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Must be happy to travel to Colchester sometimes as well due to rota.
You will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work for Aspirations Care to help ensure we have the best staff teams, offering great support services.
Must also have experience of being a senior support worker.

The purpose of your role is to provide the highest standards of support to individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities, in all aspects of their daily lives. You will help ensure your service is Well led, Safe, Caring, Effective, and Responsive.
As a Senior Support Worker, flexibility is key. We provide 24/7 support to some individuals, so you will need to work shifts on a rota basis, including nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
You will need good IT skills and experience in maintaining records to succeed in this role.
You also need to have or be willing to work towards a Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 3 (or equivalent).

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities

* Ensure that you and support staff offer the highest standards of care and support to each person in our care.
* Ensure all documentation related to a person’s needs and choices is current, comprehensive, reflects the views of the person/family, and is used daily to inform practice.
* Assist and encourage people to have a life like any other by becoming part of their community, engaging in work and education, developing relationships, exploring leisure options, and expressing themselves in their preferred way.
* Complete and record risk assessments around finances and other aspects of people's lives as needed.
* Promote health, safety, and well-being while respecting personal choices and empowering positive risk-taking.
* Promote Person Centred Active Support to maximize independence.
* Develop a collaborative working culture to benefit those supported.
* Utilize IT systems effectively and support staff in maximizing their use.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* As community involvement is important, being able to drive is preferred.
* Work flexibly to respond to the needs and wishes of those supported, including on-calls and being away from home.
* Undertake Safeguarding - complete safeguarding training and understand how, when, and who to report concerns to. Adapt to the unpredictable and varied nature of the work, working flexibly when required.
Must Haves
* A Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 with willingness to work towards Level 3.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience.
* Effective communication skills.
* Experience in record-keeping (electronic and paper) accurately and up-to-date.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word) and Email.
* Experience managing personal/household finances.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* Commitment to personal and professional development.
* Sensitivity, patience, and trustworthiness.
* Experience in undertaking risk assessments.
* Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
* Strong values and commitment to outstanding service.

* Experience supervising staff.
