Role Overview
We are recruiting a Therapeutic Worker to join our innovative Enhanced Therapeutic Community Residential Service in Oakwood, Derby. The service provides residential rehabilitation in a brand‑new facility opening Winter 2022, offering on‑site staff bedrooms with en‑suite, a gym and parking.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload and assess individuals accessing the residential rehabilitation programme.
* Develop and apply therapeutic approaches to meet the individual needs of users, including employment, education, health and social interaction.
* Coordinate care from referral to discharge, ensuring care plans meet user and stakeholder expectations.
* Deliver therapeutic groups, activities and specialised interventions in line with the TC manual.
* Support the day‑to‑day operation of the therapeutic community and promote a culture of recovery.
* Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners while maintaining the service’s reputation.
* Ensure safeguarding and protection of adult and child users.
* Attend a 4‑week rolling rota covering evenings, nights and weekends.
Eligibility and Skills
* Understanding of complex issues faced by people in drug and alcohol recovery.
* Experience working with families or individuals in the substance use sector or a related field.
* Innovative and flexible approach to meeting service needs.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills with multi‑agency partners.
* Knowledge of adult and child protection and safeguarding, required for working with vulnerable families.
* Previous experience is desirable but not essential; support workers come from diverse backgrounds.
* Willingness to learn new skills and demonstrate compassion in delivering high‑quality care.
Working Hours and Schedule
Full‑time role averaging 37.5 hours per week. 4‑week rolling rota including evenings, nights and weekends.
