Position: Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs / PMLD)

Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-time)
Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
Rate of Pay: GBP95.00 - GBP110.00 per day
About the Role:
Are you compassionate, patient, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs? We are working with an inclusive specialist provision in Bradford that supports students with complex physical, sensory, medical, communication, and learning needs. Many students require high levels of support, including assistance with mobility, communication, sensory engagement, and personal care.
This is a rewarding role where you will help students access education in a safe, calm, and nurturing environment, promoting dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to support students' development and personal care.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
Assist with personal care, feeding, hygiene, and mobility (training provided).
Support sensory-based learning and communication using tools like Makaton, PECS, or other systems.
Work with teachers and other professionals to implement Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
Foster a calm, supportive environment to promote engagement and emotional wellbeing.
What Were Looking For:
Experience supporting students with PMLD, complex needs, SEND, or in care/health settings (desirable).
A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to individualised support.
Willingness to assist with personal care and medical routines.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the dignity of vulnerable learners.
To be eligible for this role, you must:
Hold Right to Work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate (or be willing to apply).
Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
