The Acute Care team are seeking a potential candidate to join our health care assistant team. We are a team of advanced practitioners, acute care team practitioners, vascular access practitioners and health care assistants with various experiences and skill sets and we are looking for a team member to complement our current work force and deliver safe, personal and effective care to patients referred in to our service
Main duties of the job
The main duties include venepuncture, cannulation, male/female catheterisation, attending and supporting with the care of deterioration patient, working along side the vascular access practitioner and supporting with the delivery or formal and informal education of staff

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills
* HCA training day
* Willingness to undertake further training
Desirable criteria
* NVQ 3 in care related field or equivalent experience

* Previous experience working within an acute health care setting

* Experience of delivering formal and informal education
Work Skills
Essential criteria
* Proven ability to manage priorities under pressure
* Proven ability to understand and comply with detailed procedures
* Cannulation Skills

* Care and Maintenance of Vascular Access Devices
* Male/female catheterisation
* Knowledge of AKI
