Are you a warm, caring individual ready to make a difference in the lives of older adults? We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will work to support the wellbeing of people we support at two extra care services in Barnsley. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and caring individual who has the ability to manage a diverse workload within a person-centered organisation.
A genuine interest in working with older adults with care and support needs is essential, as is a commitment to diversity. You will provide respectful personal care responding to the needs of individuals, working to improve their wellbeing and help them to lead active, independent lives.
You will put in place preventative measures and support with early interventions including accessing and facilitating support information sessions, and circulating internal and external resources. You will be based in our services in Barnsley and may be expected to travel between them as required.
You will be creative and proactive in your approach, providing a range of support including facilitating group and individual activities, helping individuals to be active members of the community, and supporting individuals to be safe and happy within their living environments.
Your role also involves responding to changing needs and emergencies, ensuring safe living environments, and working with families, health professionals, and housing officers. We offer various shift patterns, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and waking nights. Experience in care is essential. Key qualities include compassion, reliability, and accountability.
