Scale 6, Point 18: £31,537 pro rata, Permanent Term Time, 36.25 hours per week, Start Date: ASAP.
Overview
Egerton High School is a specialist provision for pupils aged 11‑19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive and structured environment where every young person is supported to re‑engage with education and achieve positive outcomes. The Assistant SENCO will play a key role in strengthening our SEND provision and supporting the coordination and delivery of high‑quality support for pupils with SEND.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the SENCO to coordinate the delivery of high-quality provision for pupils with SEND.
* Collaborate with staff, families, the Local Authority and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support they need.
* Support the smooth transition of pupils into and through the school, and contribute to the admissions process.
* Play an active role in reviewing and monitoring pupil progress through statutory processes such as Education, Health and Care Plan reviews and multi-agency meetings.
* Support the development of systems, maintain accurate records and contribute to whole-school approaches that promote engagement, inclusion and positive outcomes.
* Ensure the safeguarding, inclusion and improvement of outcomes for vulnerable learners are upheld.
Qualifications
* Experience working with young people with special educational needs, particularly those with complex or SEMH needs.
* Clear understanding of the importance of multi-agency working.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence in using school-based systems.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
* Ability to manage sensitive information professionally and demonstrate a calm, solution-focused approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
* All appointments subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
