Admin and Business Support Officer

Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for an Admin and Business Support Officer to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £24,225 to £32,775 per annum depending on experience.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As Admin and Business Support Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in acting as a focal point for all departments/business needs and ensuring the smooth running of day to day operations/projects whilst providing confidential executive support. This is completed via facilitating and enabling tasks for relevant departments, managing the reception and mail room, providing a comprehensive administrative and customer service function, and overseeing budgeting and financial monitoring on an ad hoc basis. To ensure a good public image for visitors and correspondents to HA, smooth functioning of the front end and back end office, and to safeguard HA.

We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Admin and Business Support Officer:

7. Successfully:

8. Provide timely and adequate support to different departments to a satisfactory standard.
9. Complete and run day to day projects as and when required.
10. Oversee financial expenditure budgets and documents upon request and provide relevant reports and corrections.
11. Manage all incoming/outgoing mail and calls.
12. Provide comprehensive administrative service and customer service in line with SLA.
13. Manage health and safety including minimising security threats (CCTV), reporting all incidents/hazards and logging health and safety information.

What we’re looking for in our Admin and Business Support Officer:

14. Education - Certificate or diploma in administration, business, or equivalent, Or GCSE Maths and English with college level education.
15. Experience - 6-12 months experience in similar role, minimum.
16. Skills - Computer literate and competent with Microsoft office.
17. Language - Excellent written/spoken English. Bilingual in mainstream language from Middle East and Asia advantageous.
18. Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
