Location: Preston, Lancashire
Hourly Rate: £ £13.10
Annual Salary: £22,996 - £23,407 (FTE £26,769 - £27,248) Depending on skills and experience
Hours: 40 hours a week, term time only

Aurora Brooklands School is an independent day school in Lancashire providing specialist education for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Condition.
Our support service teams are an essential pillar in enabling our children and young adults to achieve their full potential.
The role of the Catering Assistant is to ensure prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals and to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the catering areas to the required standard.
With a strong emphasis on Health & Safety, you'll be expected to ensure that the catering areas are kept clean and tidy and in collaboration with the Chef and ensure that our food service is delivered in a professional, friendly and hygienic manner.
You will undertake tasks assigned to you regarding food preparation, cooking, cleaning, serving, and completion of Health and Safety paperwork.

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidate qualities:
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for the catering environment.
* Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs insofar as they impact upon the support services to be provided including management of individual needs (health, social etc.) and challenging behaviours.
* Key aspects of Health and Safety legislation.
* Excellent communication skills with a range of internal and external people, verbally and in writing
* An enthusiasm for cooking, no formal training required
* Knowledge of special diets and allergens
