Griffiths is working on one of the major transport infrastructure projects in Cornwall linking St Austell to the main A30 trunk road.
Joining as a General Foreman reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be accountable for providing suggestions and recommendations for Temporary Works Solutions, identifying potential hazards and inputting into the production of RAMS.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensuring all plant and small tools are adequately maintained before use
* Suggesting improvement areas when necessary with the workforce and subcontractors
* Monitoring the performance of plant operators and appointed persons
* Demonstrating commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies
* Ensuring that the Environmental Policy and appropriate parts of Environmental Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce
* Ensuring task outputs are achieved on site in accordance with the programme
* Identifying any potential improvement in outputs
* Keeping up to date with any legislative changes
* Ensuring the workforce & gangers have sufficient and correct information in terms of specification, workmanship and finish
Skills and experience required:
* An ability to show understanding of company protocols with regard to Accidents and Incidents investigations
* A good working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation
* An understanding of contract documents, construction tolerances and test plans
* Previous experience of working as a General Foreman on Civil Engineering projects that involve earthworks, drainage and structures with a large percentage of self-delivery
