Project Manager - Generation Business
As a Project Manager within the Generation Business, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary/cross-functional projects to time, budget, and scope, aligned with the new Delivery Framework.
You’ll join an established team providing Secretariat, Delivery, and PMO services in an operational environment, involving both change delivery and critical BAU activities.
You will oversee the controlled delivery of multiple projects and small programmes. We seek an experienced Project Manager comfortable working independently in an environment with some ambiguity, contributing to continuous improvement in ways of working.
You’ll promote positive collaboration, providing leadership, motivation, and support to cross-functional project teams. This role involves regular interaction with Senior Management, requiring timely, confident, and relevant communication, including constructive challenge and escalation when needed.
The portfolio is diverse, requiring adaptability to various project types such as strategic, regulatory, commercial, business change, IT-enabled, technical, engineering, and operational change. The Project Manager should be flexible in applying project management approaches and comfortable in a generalist role.
Who we’re looking for:
You should be educated to degree level and hold a professional qualification in Project/Programme Management (e.g., APM PMQ, PRINCE2, MSP), with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. You should have detailed knowledge of project management methodologies, experience with artefacts like RAIDs and Project Management Plans, and the ability to establish effective governance and project structures.
Industry experience in power, utilities, or construction is preferred, along with a proven track record of delivering multiple projects successfully in a fast-paced environment, on time and within budget.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential. You should be confident in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, engaging with business stakeholders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
