JOB SUMMARY
To assist the Procurement Officer in providing a value-for-money procurement service to Health and Social Care (NI) (HSCNI) customers, ensuring compliance with Regulations and ISO 9001 procedures, and achieving Service Level Agreement and Business Plan objectives. The role focuses on operational procurement.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Purchasing goods and services in accordance with HSCNI procedures to achieve value for money.
2. Liaising with and assisting customers on procurement matters.
3. Operating a PC and computer systems to facilitate procurement services.
4. Resolving invoice queries with HSCNI Shared Services to ensure prompt payment.
5. Responding to supplier queries.
6. Liaising with BSO PaLS colleagues on procurement-related matters, including group participation if required.
7. Performing any other duties within the scope of the post.
RAISING CONCERNS - RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Promoting effective team working and a culture of openness and transparency.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The post holder will be expected to:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Qualifications / Experience
1. Five GCSEs, including English Language and Maths (Grades A*-C), or equivalent, or higher qualification.
2. OR 18 months relevant work experience in a commercial/business environment, including clerical or administrative work.
Skills / Abilities / Knowledge
1. High standards of quality and professionalism.
2. Strong customer service skills.
3. Effective communication skills.
4. Ability to use initiative and work independently or as part of a team.
5. Awareness of public procurement legislation.
