The Community Rehabilitation Service has an opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic Band 7 Physiotherapist to join their team. The Community Rehabilitation Service is a multidisciplinary therapy team providing assessment and rehabilitation in a community setting for those with a range of progressive or acquired neurological conditions. The work is community based and you must be able to travel throughout the boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham efficiently and effectively. The team has two sites: Yew Tree Resource Centre, Romford, RM7 9AA, and Porters Avenue Health Centre, RM8 2EQ. The successful applicants will be required to work from the two sites to support junior staff and manage complex patients across the two boroughs.
The service supports staff development through regular supervision, a structured neurology in-service training programme and opportunities for internal and external training. The service works closely with colleagues across the Stroke and Neurology pathway, including the Stroke Unit at Meadow Court, Goodmayes, and our team of specialist nurses in PD, MND and MS to aid holistic management of patients.
Responsibilities
 * Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients with stroke and neurological conditions, considering physical/cognitive/perceptual skills to identify abilities and areas of difficulty.
 * Take a lead role in the leadership of junior staff and support assistants, through supervision, training and appraisal.
 * Achieve and maintain quality care through evidence-based practice and adherence with national guidance.
 * Work as part of the multidisciplinary team across the Stroke and Neurology pathway, liaising with and supporting therapy colleagues in the community as required.
 * Contribute to joint in-service training and journal club, supported by strong links between inpatient and community staff across the pathway.

 * High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London: This post attracts payment of 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,714; maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part time).

 * We are also currently working with neighbouring acute Trust BHRUT to review future integrated stroke pathways; opportunities for collaboration may arise.
 * Essential criteria: Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration; clinical expertise in stroke and neurology; experience in inpatient stroke rehab is an asset; ability to travel throughout Havering and Barking and Dagenham; strong teamwork, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
