We're seeking an experienced SC Cleared Pipeline Automation Engineer to support automation, deployment, and infrastructure-as-code delivery within a secure environment. The role focuses on optimising CI/CD processes, containerisation, and automated environment provisioning to increase reliability, repeatability, and security across all release stages.
You'll work closely with development and platform teams to design and implement automated pipelines that support application testing and deployment across multiple environments - helping to reduce release cycle time, improve compliance, and enable shift-left testing.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and release across multiple environments.
* Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
* Manage and automate OpenShift or Kubernetes cluster deployments (preferably Red Hat OpenShift).
* Build and maintain custom Docker images and manage image life cycles (Quay, Nexus, Artifactory, ECR).
* Configure and manage Linux (preferably Red Hat) Servers in secure environments.
* Integrate automated testing, quality gates, and security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA) into pipelines.
* Implement monitoring and observability for pipelines using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
* Ensure compliance and traceability for all build and release artefacts.
* Collaborate with developers, testers, and release teams to onboard new applications into automated pipelines.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Pipeline/Automation/DevOps Engineer in complex or secure environments.
* Linux administration (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
* Automation of OpenShift or Kubernetes clusters using IaC and CI/CD tools.
* Custom build and containerisation experience (Dockerfile or server image builds).
* Strong Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Groovy.
* Expertise with one or more CI/CD platforms - Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Tekton, or ArgoCD.
* Understanding of security and compliance automation (artifact signing, dependency scanning).
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across build, deployment, and runtime stages.
Desirable/Nice to Have
* Experience operating a production OpenShift cluster.
* Knowledge of Quay image registry and Nexus repository management.
* Familiarity with OpenShift Service Mesh (Istio).
* Exposure to Secure by Design (SbD) principles and tooling.
* Experience integrating automated pipelines with observability and alerting stacks.
*Due to the nature of the project, the successful candidate will have a valid SC Clearance prior to a start.
