Apprentice GSE Technician Location: Manchester Division: Operations / Workshop Reporting To: Workshop Supervisor The Opportunity: We are looking for a motivated Apprentice GSE Technician to join our operational team. This hands-on role provides on-the-job training in a busy workshop environment, supporting experienced technicians while learning how to maintain and service ground support equipment (GSE). This is a safety-critical role requiring attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for mechanics. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with servicing and maintaining vehicles and machinery under supervision • ️ Learn to use workshop tools and machinery safely and effectively • Complete job cards, inspection records, and service paperwork accurately • Keep work bays and surrounding areas clean, safe, and organised • Report defective tools or equipment to the Workshop Supervisor • ️ Request parts using SAP and assist with basic workshop admin tasks • ✅ Ensure all tasks are checked and approved by a qualified technician • Progress to more complex tasks as training develops through apprenticeship ️ What We Are Looking For: • ✅ A strong interest in motor mechanics and practical engineering • ✅ Basic understanding of MS Outlook and ability to use tablets/iPads • ✅ Willingness to learn in a supervised, safety-first environment • ✅ Literate, numerate, and able to follow instructions accurately • ✅ Drivers licence would be advantageous • ❌ Please note: This role requires supervision at all times—independent working is not permitted during training Knowledge and Skills: • A keen interest in motor mechanics • Basic understanding of MS Outlook • Ability to navigate iPads and tablets for completing work orders • ⏱️ Ability to work efficiently and accurately • Literate, numerate, and analytical • Understanding of TCR procedures and systems • Service delivery focused • ⚠️ General knowledge of health and safety regulations Qualifications: • Minimum Grade 4 or C in Maths, English & ICT at GCSE level Apprenticeship Goals: • Complete accredited training and obtain NVQ qualifications • Develop competency through classroom, e-learning, and on-the-job training • Maintain consistent quality in documentation and workshop conduct ❤️ Why Join Us? • Earn while you learn with full support toward qualification • Gain hands-on experience working with industry-leading GSE equipment • Be part of a safety-focused and supportive operational team ❤️ What We Offer • 3x salary Life Assurance. • Private Medical coverage. • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
