The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all on-site equipment and systems are maintained to the highest standard. You’ll play a vital part in keeping operations running efficiently by carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
You’ll work on conveyors, sortation systems, automation, and handling equipment, resolving faults quickly to reduce downtime and maintain productivity. The role requires a proactive engineer who takes pride in problem-solving and keeping essential systems running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance on a range of automated and mechanical systems.
* Diagnose faults on electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
* Liaise with contractors and coordinate maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
* Ensure equipment reliability through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.
* Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
* Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work meets health and safety standards.
* Support operational teams to achieve performance targets and minimise downtime.

About You
You’ll be a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with a solid background in mechanical and electrical systems, ideally with experience in automated environments. You should be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
Requirements:
* Level 3 Engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical).
* Experience in maintenance within a fast-paced or automated setting.
* Confident in electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
* Exposure to automation, conveyors, or control systems (PLC knowledge desirable).
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Flexible approach to working a rotating shift pattern (days and nights).

* Salary: £52,000 – £54,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
* Bonus: Up to 5% of basic salary
