Due to continued growth within our Autism Diagnostic Service, we are seeking an experienced Deputy Operations Lead to support operational delivery, team leadership and service improvement. The Role Working closely with the Operations Lead, you will support the day-to-day management of the Autism Diagnostic Service, ensuring efficient, compliant and high-quality service delivery. You will lead Patient Support Coordinators and Assistant Psychologist Patient Support Coordinators, oversee operational performance, support workforce planning and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a proactive operational leader who enjoys problem-solving, developing people and driving service excellence in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Support day-to-day delivery of the Autism Diagnostic Service. Assist with appointment scheduling, workforce planning and service coordination. Monitor operational performance and support achievement of service targets. Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies. Support the introduction of new systems and ways of working. Provide operational cover during the Operations Lead’s absence. Team Leadership Provide day-to-day leadership and support to operational teams. Conduct supervision meetings, one-to-ones and appraisals. Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development. Promote a positive, collaborative and accountable culture. Assist with workload management and resource allocation. Patient Experience & Communication Support effective coordination of patient pathways and operational processes. Act as an escalation point for patient, clinician and operational queries. Assist with complaint investigation and resolution. Maintain effective communication between operational teams, clinicians and senior leaders. Governance & Compliance Support compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and information governance requirements. Maintain accurate operational records and data management practices. Assist with incident reporting, audits and quality improvement initiatives. Identify operational risks and support mitigation plans. Data & Reporting Support collection, analysis and reporting of operational data. Monitor KPIs and identify trends and improvement opportunities. Assist with workforce, referral and performance reporting. Contribute to data-driven decision-making and service development. Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional standards. Desirable Experience within healthcare, clinical services or another regulated environment. Experience managing operational teams. Knowledge of GDPR and information governance requirements. Experience producing operational reports and performance data.
