Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Reach Forklift Truck Operator to join our manufacturing facility in West Bromwich. The successful candidate works within a fast-paced production environment, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Operate reach forklift trucks safely and efficiently in line with company policies and health and safety regulations.
* Load, unload, stack and move materials and finished products within the warehouse and production areas.
* Conduct routine pre-operational checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
* Maintain accurate records of goods moved, stock levels and any discrepancies encountered during operations.
* Assist with stock rotation, ensuring products are stored in correct locations and maintain stock integrity.
* Support warehouse and production teams with timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
* Comply with all health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
* Adopt a proactive approach to identifying and minimising hazards or inefficiencies in the work area.
* Participate in training and development programmes as required.
Required Qualifications
* Valid reach forklift truck operator licence or certification.
Experience
* Proven experience operating reach forklift trucks within a manufacturing or warehousing environment.
* Demonstrable understanding of stock control and warehouse procedures.
Knowledge and Skills
* Thorough knowledge of forklift truck operations and safety regulations.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
