Job overview
We are looking for a passionate and committed Outreach Programme Manager to cover our
Outreach Manager role. They will join the Admissions, Marketing and Outreach (AMO) team at
LSA, supporting LSA in its mission to diversify the screen industries. The goals of the AMO team are
to ensure that all young people, particularly those who have traditionally been underrepresented
within the creative industries, have the information they need to make an informed decision that LSA
is the right school for them to begin their careers in the screen industries.
The purpose of this role to to help the Admissions team engage and inspire young people,
especially UEG (underrepresented ethnic groups) and those from low socioeconomic
backgrounds, to consider LSA for their Level 3 or Level 4 qualifications. The Outreach Programme
Manager will identify and connect with relevant schools and community groups that can feed into
the LSA talent pipeline, creating further engagement opportunities within LSA. To be successful in
this role, you will be confident in delivering compelling presentations, assemblies and talks to
young people, teachers, careers advisors and industry professionals. You will be passionate about
every aspect of diversity and have a strong knowledge of routes into the screen industries.
Role Responsibilities
Maintain and implement the existing Outreach Strategy, with adjustments made as needed in
response to external developments or emerging opportunities.
Maintain and enhance existing relationships with relevant community groups, schools, initiatives
and national organisations where prospective students can be identified.
Being responsible for the management and organisiation of the Outreach team. Ensuring the
successful participation and delivery in a range of on-site and off-site events (Careers Fairs,
Assemblies, Tour and Workshops).
Implementing internal LSA run events such as holiday, after school and weekend clubs aimed at
engaging underrepresented groups in the film and television industry.
Maintain and update the outreach database, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data
collection.
Produce regular reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders, using data to
highlight impact and reach.
Manage a small team, ensuring the work of the Outreach Team runs smoothly.
Line Manage the Outreach Officer.
Ensure safeguarding policies and best practice are upheld across all outreach work.
Role Requirements
Ability to relate to and speak with young people from a range of backgrounds, particularly
those who are from underrepresented backgrounds.
Experience delivering outreach or education programmes.
Highly organised with strong project management skills, particularly with the ability to manage
multiple activities across different timelines.
Ability to work well proactively on own and as part of a team.
Confident in using and maintaining databases or CRM systems, and using data to inform
practice.
Comfortable reporting impact to a variety of stakeholders, using data and narrative.
Fantastic interpersonal, verbal and written communication - both in person, on the phone and
via email
Knowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to upholding high standards in this area.
Experience of managing staff or volunteers is desirable.
Work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and have a wide sense of possibility.
