Job Description Position Title: Maintenance Technician Salary: 38k PA Location: Bidford on Avon, Warwickshire Objectives of the Role Seeking a multi-skilled, computer-literate Maintenance Technician who is ideally BTEC-qualified in both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to "Safety First and Quality Always." The technician must demonstrate excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively. The role covers maintaining production equipment and site service functions to ensure the continued operation of the manufacturing facility. This includes supporting mechanical and electrical systems and site facilities. The position involves working rotating shifts: * 06:00 to 14:00 * 14:00 to 22:00 (Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend work as required.) Key duties include conducting inspections, managing spare parts inventory, scheduling and performing both Planned Preventative and Corrective Maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities * Maintain stock of spares and consumable parts * Liaise with and supervise external contractors to ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies * Conduct statutory testing (e.g., fire alarms, electrical systems) and maintain accurate records * Manage and coordinate on-site maintenance contractors Additional Tasks * Assist in equipment upgrades, modifications, and prototype development * Support office relocations as required * Review and suggest updates to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks * Timely call-out of contractors to ensure continuous production * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives * Advise on plant and equipment upgrades and improvements Qualifications and Role Requirements * Good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace * 18th Edition BS7671 Qualification * Ability to read both mechanical and electrical schematic drawings * Basic plumbing skills * IT literate * Participation in the site call-out rota and emergency response team * Willingness to work outside normal hours/weekends when required * Key holder responsibility Person Specification (Condensed) Qualifications * BTEC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering * 18th Edition BS7671 * Time-served apprenticeship (desirable) * Mechanical engineering background (desirable) Experience * Minimum 5 years in a maintenance role within a production environment * Strong PPM and fault-finding skills * Experience in 3 or more of the following: o Electrical o Pneumatics o Hydraulics o Plumbing Skills & Knowledge * Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics * Basic plumbing skills * IT proficiency * Working knowledge of site systems such as compressed air, water, electrics, and HVAC * PLC fault-finding experience (desirable) MAN24
