Are you a practical and proactive individual with a passion for supporting creative learning? We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Design Technology Technician to join our dynamic team at a well-established secondary school in Sheffield.
About the Role:
As a Design Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the DT department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone with a strong background in workshop tools, machinery, and health & safety standards in a school or educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to teachers during practical DT lessons.
* Maintain, service, and safely store equipment and materials.
* Assist with the preparation of materials for student projects.
* Ensure all machinery and tools are compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Support with stock control and ordering of supplies.
About You:
* Previous experience as a Design Technology Technician or similar role is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and workshop equipment.
* Health & Safety awareness is essential.
* Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Relevant qualification or training in Design Technology or Engineering would be advantageous.
