Our client is a start-up Fintech Lender specialising in fast, flexible funding for UK SMEs. As part of their growth we are looking for an experienced Collections Manager to join the team. This is a key role where you'll build the processes and team, to take ownership of client services, early‑stage arrears and collections. You'll be responsible for creating scalable processes, ensuring exceptional customer experience, and safeguarding portfolio performance as well as recruiting and managing the team in future. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role where we expect the individual to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. You'll be working in a true start‑up environment, building processes from scratch, adapting quickly, and taking ownership from day one.
Responsibilities:
Review and build the collections strategy of the business, ensuring it is fit for purpose through a high growth period.
Recruit, train and manage future team.
Working independently to build trust and negotiate repayment solutions with customers, monitoring repayment plans.
Devising strategy on each case and implement by pro-active management to optimise efficiency of outcome and maximise repayment.
Monitor repayment plans and follow up to ensure compliance.
Act as a primary point of contact for clients experiencing repayment issues.
Assisting clients with all other inquiries, including reporting on outstanding balances.
What We're Looking For:
3+ years' experience in loan portfolio management, particularly in collections.
Knowledge of UK Business Loans, ideally unsecured.
Demonstrate successful communication with internal and external customers at all levels.
Business and commercial awareness.
