About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Hospitality Assistant to support the day‑to‑day food and service delivery across the school. This role ensures pupils, staff, and visitors receive high‑quality, nutritious meals served with care, efficiency, and attention to detail.
You will be joining Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We tailor our catering services to suit children of all ages and meet the bespoke requirements of each school.
The safety and wellbeing of the people we serve is at the heart of everything we do. A key element is effective allergen management, achieved through training, communication, and care, creating mealtimes where every pupil has a safe experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas
* Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls
* Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
* Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations
* Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
* Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out‑of‑hours functions
* Champion allergen controls and uphold safety standards
* Work evenings and weekends as required
Qualifications
* Experience within contract or high‑volume catering (ideally)
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
* Flexible with a can‑do attitude and customer‑focused approach
* Enthusiastic and fun
* Excellent organisational skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Team player who enjoys working collaboratively
* Outstanding customer service skills
* Flexible approach to work hours
* Be over 21 and hold a valid UK driving licence
* Right to work in the UK
