Paediatric Dietitian

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Dietetic team at Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a full-time, permanent Band 6 Paediatric Dietitian. The successful candidate will be involved in delivering specialist paediatric inpatient and outpatient services.
Job Description
The postholder will work as part of a dynamic team of 7 paediatric dietitians and will deliver a high‑quality nutrition and dietetic service to paediatric in‑patients, out‑patients, carers and staff. Responsibilities include:
* Managing an inpatient caseload on the paediatric ward.
* Providing specialist outpatient advice in general paediatric and allergy clinics.
* Gaining experience in specialist areas such as diabetes, home enteral feeding, neonates, oncology and cystic fibrosis.
* Developing supervision skills through supporting other staff and students.
* Actively contributing to audits and developing innovative approaches to service delivery.
* Communicating and collaborating with team members, other HCPs and partner organisations to support service improvements.
* Managing workload autonomously and planning effectively.
* Participating in the general functioning of the Dietetic Department, including contributing to student training.
Person Specification – Qualifications
* 4‑year degree in Dietetics (or equivalent qualification).
* Registration with HCPC.
* Membership of the British Dietetic Association (desirable).
* Student supervisory skills course (desirable).
* Post‑Registration BDA Paediatric Course – Module 1 (desirable).
Experience
* General NHS experience in clinical dietetics.
* Experience in a secondary care setting with a paediatric service.
* Experience working in a range of clinical settings within the NHS environment.
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Experience of student training (desirable).
* Delivering presentations (desirable).
* Clinical audit/service development (desirable).
* Experience in catering liaison and menu planning (desirable).
* Experience of working with children & young people (desirable).
Knowledge
* NHS Constitution.
* Trust vision, values and strategic objectives.
* HCPC code of conduct and adherence to these.
* Understanding of clinical governance principles and their application.
* Knowledge of enteral and oral nutrition national guidance.
* Documented evidence of CPD (desirable).

Contract and Working Pattern
Permanent, full‑time.
Salary
£41,957 to £50,387 per annum (incl. HCAs).
