Our Homelessness Team starts each day knowing we can make a difference to local people.
The role is varied and rewarding. Our customers are always at the heart of our service, ensuring we deliver excellent advice and assistance. The role requires working in the community, visiting dispersed temporary accommodation, and supporting households from temporary to permanent housing.
Our Accommodation and Support Officers also undertake practical tasks such as managing temporary accommodation (tracking rent payments, issuing gas/electric checks, arranging repairs and refurbishment).
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will be an enabler with experience in housing-related support. You should be well-organized, have excellent communication skills, and be able to engage appropriately with vulnerable adults and families, including those with mental health issues, offending history, learning disabilities, or substance misuse.
Experience in outreach/community-based work with homelessness or socially excluded groups is essential, or demonstrated equivalent skills. Experience working with statutory and non-statutory agencies in a customer-focused environment in the housing sector is advantageous.
You must be able to travel efficiently around the area for visits and meetings. A full UK driving license and access to a car are advantageous.
