About us
Are you passionate about making a real difference for children and young people. In Warrington all our children’s homes are Ofsted rated GOOD or OUTSTANDING. We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to join one of our new homes.
In partnership with our health colleagues, we have opened an innovative residential home for children with complex mental health needs, that also offers outreach services to support relationship building prior to living in the home and support permanency once moving on from the home.
The role
We are looking for resilient, compassionate and driven people to join our team as a Waking Night Residential Care Worker, supporting the most vulnerable children with complex needs, who may have mental health diagnosis and display high levels of self-harming behaviour, as well experiencing adverse childhood experiences and trauma.
The home consists of a registered homes manager, two deputy managers, a team of Senior residential staff, residential care workers, waking night staff and health staff.
The home offers outreach work to children who are in distress and struggling with their emotions, to support relationship building prior to them potentially moving to the home, which is a 4-bed short to medium term home registered under the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
The post is a 30-hour permanent contract, and the hours will primarily be during nights. We are looking for staff that are happy to work on a 24/7 rota, including weekends on a rota basis, working bank holidays and unsociable hours. You will receive a competitive enhancement to your hourly rate to cover weekends and working past 7pm on weekdays.
The home will be subject to a minimum of one full OFSTED inspection annually.
The successful candidate will benefit from Warrington’s councils’ employees support and rewards program, competitive rates of pay.
The ability to converse at ease with people within the home, external professionals and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
In Warrington we always put children first. Our children in care services were rated as OUTSTANDING in 2024 so come and join us as we continue to develop and improve our services even further!
