About The Role
Team Manager – Children with Disabilities, West Essex. Permanent, Full Time. Salary £55,892 to £69,241 per annum. Location: Harlow. Working style: Anywhere worker.
Children and Families is committed to promoting the development and well‑being of children, young people and their families. The service provides early help, family support and social work interventions to build resilience, remove barriers and protect children from neglect and abuse.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of social workers to deliver a high‑quality professional service with positive outcomes.
* Accountable for individual performance, quality assurance, resources and budgets.
* Accountable for the practice of social workers within the team, providing professional and practice supervision, using available tools to address underperformance and coaching.
* Responsible for development of individuals to maximise capability and performance across the team.
* Responsible for oversight and quality assurance of a range of social work reports and court statements.
* Responsible for responding to complaints and other feedback from service users in accordance with policy and fostering positive relationships.
* Lead inter‑agency collaborative working, establishing and developing effective approaches to integrated working with partners, communities and the voluntary sector.
* Develop the training and tactical service delivery plan for the team.
* Use expertise and professional knowledge to provide advice and guidance for complex cases in line with legislative and organisational standards.
Experience and Qualifications
* Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent.
* Registration with Social Work England as a registered social worker.
* Previous team manager experience or senior practitioner role.
* Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
* Experience delivering services in children’s social care.
* People management, resource planning and management skills.
* Knowledge of quality assurance and customer care.
* Ability to achieve person‑centred outcomes.
* Experience with complex statistical, financial and performance information.
* Experience in policy development and change management.
* Experience working in a political environment and ability to respond to different perspectives.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
* Commitment to systemic, relationship‑based social work and building partnerships.
Additional Information
The role requires mobility across Essex, including travel around the county and beyond. A driving licence and access to transport is essential. Flexible working arrangements are available to support employees, including carers.
