Within the Camlin Group, Camlin Technologies is responsible for product development and works closely with Kelvatek, Camlin Power and Camlin Rail, to develop the next generation of exciting and cutting-edge products and systems for the power industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced System engineer who may also have Software embedded experience who wish to progress into this role, to join a dynamic and fast paced System engineering group, to help shape the future and support of our market leading product solutions.
Role and Responsibilities
The Sustaining System Engineer plays an important role in leading Product Support. The successful candidate will play a senior role with the responsibility of leading the agreement of requirements from all stakeholders ensuring a quality product that meets the customer expectations.
1. Gain a deep understanding of products and users to make effective decisions
2. Provide the support vision and direction to engineering stakeholders
3. Translate high level requirements into technical design requirements
4. Propose High level Design Architectures for Discussion and clarification with development teams.
5. Work within the embedded applications domain ensuring both the electro-mechanical capability and embedded electronics is aligned to user requirements and needs.
6. Manage and prioritise development teams tasks and critical paths to product milestones.
7. Propose and align with engineering SMEs to Business opportunities and technical status with ownership of Engineering effort estimations, technical alignment, and technical delivery reviews
8. Validated Performance and Quality focused with an understanding of manufacturability of products at design phase.
Essential Criteria:
9. A BEng, MSC or Similar in an engineering Qualification or Discipline.
10. At least 3 years’ experience as a System engineer or similar role.
11. Experience in multidisciplinary projects.
12. Experience with product development with product lifecycle management of both Hardware components and Software.
13. Ability to solve complex use cases with ability to drive End to End feature benefit from design, implementation, test, and manufacturing.
14. Fluent in English, both written and verbal
15. Excellent communication and presentation skills
Desired criteria:
16. Experience in Scientific, mechatronics or electrical product development.
17. Experience with embedded software application development.
18. Experience of test-driven development.
19. Experience integrating with 3rd party systems
20. Experience using Jira and confluence and requirements capture tools.
21. Experience of agile methodologies in multi-team environment.
