Summary

A Level 2 Apprentice Parts Advisor is required. You will become integral within the department by providing aftermarket support in the supply of OEM spare parts to an extensive customer base and internal departments. Duties include receiving orders via telephone, email and any other medium made available, such as online portals.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Rota will cover between 07.00 & 17.00, Monday to Friday.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you'll do at work

Order intake and processing:

* Receiving orders via telephone, email and any other medium made available, such as online portals
* Booking parts out of stock and preparing delivery notes

Order Picking/Dispatch:

* Pick parts, package them securely, and prepare address labels for couriers
* Goods in/out
* Receive incoming spare parts into stock and locate them in the parts dept
* Book in warranty, return spare parts and locate them in the quarantine area
* When necessary, load and unload spare parts and equipment from delivery vehicles

Customer Service:

* Assist customers and internal staff with the identification of spare parts
* Creating quotations for customers
* Assist customers with queries related to departmental issues, such as late deliveries, incorrect parts etc.
* Update customers with ETAs

* Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
* Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
* Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
* Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
* Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
* support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
* Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
* Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
* Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
* Carry out and record learning and development activities.
* Conducts handover activities.

Requirements


Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Mathematics & English (grade 9-4 (A*-C))

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

• Interest in engineering or vehicles D(esirable) • An understanding of the principles and workings of a motor vehicle D • Understand the organisation E(ssential) • Knowledge of office based I.T • A desire to learn waste collection related technical topics E • Demonstrate an amicable attitude (body language, tone, word choice etc) E • Demonstrate a willingness for self-development • Willing to attend further education courses E • Willing to attend internal and external training course including fork lift truck licence E • Flexible E • Able to satisfy shift start times promptly E • Capable of working in a manual environment, picking spare parts upto 20kg E • Capable of working at heights off aircraft steps and Hi Bay order picker
