Job Description:
SJC Partners is currently managing the recruitment process for an Acquisition Search Director in an innovative mergers and acquisitions deal sourcing business.
Our client specializes in sourcing off-market businesses for acquisition by private equity investors, PE-backed companies, listed businesses, and some private companies.
Businesses seeking to acquire or invest in other companies engage our client to conduct bespoke acquisition searches, uncovering targets within specific criteria and facilitating approaches to these businesses. The client maintains thorough commercial conversations with business owners, understanding different models and building trust.
The successful candidate will manage end-to-end client relationships, including:
* Agreeing the scope of the acquisition search with clients at the board level.
* Liaising with the research team to identify suitable businesses (research will be conducted by an in-house team).
* Approaching shareholders and holding detailed, commercial discussions via video call about their business, financials, growth, and sale aspirations.
* Discussing potential targets with clients and arranging meetings.
* Managing the acquisition process relationship thereafter, requiring strong commercial acumen.
Applicants should quickly grasp different business models and have experience operating at board level, given the client relationship management at owner/CEO level, often involving large corporates, private equity, and private equity-backed firms.
Applicants from various commercial backgrounds will be considered. The current team includes individuals who have run their own businesses or operated at Director level.
This role offers a competitive salary with an attractive, transparent bonus structure paid multiple times per year based on deal activity. Bonuses are uncapped, and in a good year, can amount to 100% of the salary or more.
