The Role as a Director of Sales
This isn’t just any sales role — this is your chance to shape the commercial future of one of Staffordshire’s leading hospitality destinations.
As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading the sales and commercial function of the hotel, ensuring revenue growth across rooms, meetings & events, corporate accounts, and leisure business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will create and execute innovative sales strategies, develop key partnerships, and motivate a high‑performing sales team. Extensive MICE business can facilitate up to 650 delegates and a dedicated conference centre. This role is hybrid (office/appointments/agent visits) working Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities as a Director of Sales
* Develop and deliver the hotel’s sales and revenue strategy to achieve budgeted targets
* Identify, secure, and grow corporate accounts, conference & events business, and leisure opportunities
* Build strong relationships with key clients and local businesses
* Collaborate with Hilton Worldwide sales teams to maximise brand‑wide opportunities
* Conduct market analysis to identify trends and ensure the hotel remains competitive
* Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and industry functions
* Report sales performance to senior leadership and contribute to business planning
What We’re Looking For in a Director of Sales
* At least 3 years’ senior sales leadership experience in hotels
* Commercial sparkle — you know how to spot opportunities and close the deal
* Confidence, charisma, and brilliant communication skills
* A proven ability to motivate, coach, and inspire a team
* Experience with Hilton systems (Delphi.fdc, OnQ) – a bonus
* Experience with high volume of MICE business
