Job Title: Compliance Coordinator

Hours: 37.5 per week
Job Purpose:
To support regulatory compliance activities for GS Yuasa products, with a primary focus on lead-acid batteries, ensuring products, documentation and supplier evidence remain compliant with applicable European legislation and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Further develop and maintain a register of relevant regulations, standards, and internal compliance requirements.
• Maintain a compliance calendar to track deadlines, reporting obligations, and renewal requirements.
• Collect, review, and store factory responses, supplier declarations, and technical documentation to ensure audit-ready records.
• Maintain EU Declarations of Conformity (DoC), CE technical files, and supporting compliance evidence.
• Ensure compliance with chemical regulations (REACH, CLP) and product safety requirements (GPSR).
• Track substances of concern and coordinate supplier material declarations (SVHC, CMRT, EMRT, and related requests).
• Support new product introduction activities to ensure compliance is maintained during launches.
• Support the implementation of supply chain due diligence activities and responsible sourcing initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess operational and financial impacts, reporting potential compliance risks and costs to management.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing across multiple European divisions to support product labelling and packaging compliance.
• Liaise with third-party specialists and consultants to support audits and compliance reviews.
• Provide guidance to internal teams on compliance responsibilities and documentation expectations.

Experience and Qualifications:
Essential
• 2+ years' experience in a compliance, regulatory, quality, or technical role
• Financial awareness to assess and report compliance-related costs and risks
• Strong Excel skills for reporting, tracking, and compliance monitoring
• NVQ Level 3+ (or equivalent) in a relevant technical, compliance, or quality discipline, or equivalent experience
• Experience coordinating tasks and stakeholders across functions/sites.
Desirable
• Advanced Excel and systems-based document control experience (SharePoint, ERP, PLM, etc.)
• ISO 9001 internal auditor training or audit exposure
• Practical compliance training in CE/Technical Documentation and/or REACH/CLP.
