Why this job matters

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading and identifying market opportunities and customer needs within transport planning, infrastructure, government and mobility sectors.

Your role will involve deep engagement with customers to understand their needs, problems to solve, drive product innovation, and ensure successful market adoption. You will partner with commercial teams to develop pricing strategies and compelling product narratives and use cases.

You will lead the development and delivery of data-driven products tailored to transport consultancies, local and central government, transport organisations and mobility companies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, data scientists and engineering, to define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for transport data products.

You will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery and development through to launch, performance measurement/KPIs, and continuous improvement.



Key elements of the role include:



Product Strategy and Vision

* Define the transport data product strategy and vision, working with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, and data science.
* Identify and evaluate market opportunities within transport planning, infrastructure, government and mobility sectors.

Product Lifecycle Management

* Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery and development through to launch, performance measurement, continuous improvement and decommission.

Backlog Management and Prioritisation

* Manage the product backlog and support all agile ceremonies with the delivery manager.
* Support quarterly review and prioritisation planning.

Product Discovery and Validation

* Perform customer product discovery to validate key hypotheses, validation of experiments and jobs to be done (experiments, MVPs, data tests, etc.).

Product User and Market Research

* Support user research working alongside user research teams to identify opportunity and validate product bets across transport consultancies, government and mobility sectors.

Defining and Tracking Product Metrics

* Define and implement actionable product metrics (OKRs, KPIs) to measure success, identify and validate issues and improvements.

Go-to-Market Planning and Coordination

* Deliver GTM plans for all transport data products aligned to product releases, marketing and sales initiatives.
* Partner with commercial teams to develop pricing strategies and compelling product narratives and use cases


The skills & experience you'll need

The ideal candidate will have had experience working for transport– ideally transport consultancies, urban planners or other urban regeneration developers.



Key Skills

Data proficiency

* Strong understanding of how data is used by transport organisations, local and central government, and mobility companies to plan and deliver transport infrastructure and services. Familiarity with geospatial data, Digital twins, GIS systems, footfall/dwell data, and location technologies.

Stakeholder Management

* Strong relationship skills to work across organisational boundaries and influence stakeholders across complex corporate and government structures.

Collaboration

* Cross-functional collaboration working closely with engineering, design, data science, operations, marketing, and sales to bring products to market and scale them

Intellectual Curiosity

* Happy to test, learn and validate, as well as execute go-to-market strategies that accelerate adoption and growth.

Clear communication

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with sales teams and clients.
* Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable product strategies.



Experience

* Experience in product management, particularly with B2B SaaS data-driven products.
* Experience of product management methodologies (Lean Startup, SCRUM, Kanban, KANO, etc) and agile delivery in a multi squad, data science and engineering environments.
* Experience working in a customer-focused environment with multiple concurrent priorities.
* Understanding of data pipelines, data-driven insights to inform prioritisation/ pivoting, or scaling decisions.
* Understanding of geospatial and MND data, including footfall, dwells + weblogs data.
* Knowledge of the technology and telco sectors.
