Equitas are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join a vibrant, supportive team at a community-focused, Good Ofsted-rated school in Bury. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality, innovative lessons in DT and will play a key role in fostering creativity and technical skills in students. Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons in Design and Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring all students achieve their potential.
* Plan and deliver creative and innovative lessons that align with the curriculum, meeting the needs of all learners.
* Work collaboratively with the DT department and other staff members to enhance the curriculum and develop cross-curricular projects.
* Utilise effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
* Provide feedback on student progress, assess student work, and set clear targets for improvement.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of extra-curricular activities, promoting the subject within the school community.
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to support student progress and welfare.
* Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and contribute to the continued success of the department.
* Actively contribute to the school’s ethos, vision, and values.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
* A passion for teaching Design and Technology and a commitment to inspiring students.
* Strong subject knowledge across various areas of Design and Technology (e.g., product design, graphics, resistant materials, etc.).
* Experience teaching DT at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Experience of teaching or supporting students with special educational needs is an advantage.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
