Quality Control Assistant

💰 £13.39 per hour + overtime
🕒 Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible working hours)
We're working with a well-established and growing industrial business based in Deeside, specialising in materials processing and recycling. The company plays a key role in supporting sustainable supply chains, handling high volumes of materials and ensuring quality standards are consistently met across operations.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Quality Control Assistant to join their busy and hands-on site team.
The Role
As a Quality Control Assistant, you'll be responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing materials, monitoring processes, and ensuring products meet required standards before distribution. This is a varied, practical role that involves working across the yard and engaging closely with operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products
Sort and examine split loads and complete associated documentation
Carry out basic testing and grading of materials (e.g. paper, cardboard, plastics)
Assist with gravimetric testing using established procedures
Identify and remove non-conforming materials, reporting any issues promptly
Support loading and unloading of containers and curtain siders (FLT use)
Maintain accurate quality records and photographic evidence where required
Carry out daily equipment checks and ensure a safe working environment
Support general housekeeping, stock rotation, and yard organisation
Step in for the Quality Inspector when required
What We're Looking For
A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to quality control
Comfortable working in a hands-on, outdoor/industrial environment
Strong awareness of health & safety practices
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively across departments
FLT licence (NPORS or equivalent) essential
