Role Overview
Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy. You’ll collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. This role requires adaptability, self-motivation, and the ability to translate policy into action.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, providing support to other workstreams as needed.
2. Provide technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry partners.
3. Drive reforms in waste management to improve how waste is managed in England, including shaping digital systems and policy development.
4. Collaborate with diverse technical and project teams nationwide, utilizing smart tools to stay connected, with some travel and overnight stays required.
The Team
You will join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads waste regulation reforms to meet government goals of resource conservation and waste minimization. Additional Information
This is a flexible/hybrid role with an EA Office base location. Some travel and overnight stays may be necessary.
