Join to apply for the Support Worker role at Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative.
This is a brand-new service for Cartrefi, offering you the chance to join at a pivotal stage. You’ll play a key role in helping shape and build this new care and support service from the ground up. You’ll be supporting four individuals in their own home, each with different needs and personalities. They enjoy eating out, going to farms and gardening at the allotments. They require minimal support but there may be some challenging behaviour involved.
Your goal is to make the everyday remarkable through enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this role is rewarding for the right person.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide care and support to four individuals in their own homes, adapting to each person’s needs and preferences. You will support with daily activities, personal care for one individual, and help them engage in activities they enjoy. You will work to create a positive, person-centred environment and contribute to their well-being and independence.
Who we are looking for
No experience required as full training is provided. We’d love to hear from you if you:
* have patience and empathy
* can support a person with intimate personal care with respect and dignity
* have strong communication and teamwork skills
* are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
* have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
* have a full driving licence – essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities
Base pay range and benefits
Salary: £12.74 per hour
Sleep-in: £60 per night
Travel: 45p per mile
Hours: Part-time (minimum 10 hours per week) or full-time (up to 40 hours per week). Shifts may include weekends and sleep-ins. Location: Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan. Contract: Permanent. Interviews are being held as soon as possible.
