To carry out the duties of a Planning Policy Officer, who is responsible for a number of planning policy matters, including supporting the delivery of projects, carrying out research and record keeping for the team, and to input to the wider professional work of the Strategic Planning Team. What does this job involve? This is a really exciting opportunity to get involved and directly contribute towards the successful delivery of the Telford & Wrekin Local Development Plan. The job is ideally suited towards experienced officers or graduates that are keen and can apply themselves quickly to tasks such as stakeholder engagement, data monitoring, problem solving, research tasks and use of new skills such as GIS mapping software. The role will help guide the plan through the formal examination process, working across Council teams and stakeholders to help pull together evidence and information to support the successful adoption of the Local Development Plan. The role will support engagement with housing developers in order to monitor and update the Councils housing land supply data. Monitoring and responding to changes in Government Policy will also form a key part of the role, including the drafting of policy recommendations.
