A well-established North Manchester construction business is seeking an experienced and driven Office Manager to take full operational responsibility for its growing Plant Division.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a construction or plant hire environment and is confident stepping into a department, taking ownership, strengthening systems, and driving meaningful operational improvements. You will play a key role in embedding structure, improving efficiency, and supporting the continued growth of the division.
Following the recent implementation of a company-wide ERP system (Coins), this role will be instrumental in ensuring its successful integration, optimising its capabilities, and helping the wider team adopt new processes with confidence.
The Role
You will take full ownership of the Plant Division’s office function, leading the team and ensuring smooth, efficient day-to-day operations. You will focus on improving processes, maintaining strong commercial controls, and ensuring accurate administration across plant operations.
You will also act as a key systems lead, helping to embed ERP usage, improve data integrity, and drive efficiencies across plant hire activities, asset utilisation, and departmental reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and support the Plant Division office team
* Oversee plant administration, coordination, reporting, and documentation
* Drive process improvement, efficiency, and operational consistency
* Support, embed, and optimise ERP system usage (Coins) across the division
* Act as a systems champion, ensuring data accuracy and effective use of business systems
* Manage plant hire administration, hire rates, asset utilisation, and cost tracking
* Maintain accurate commercial records and support financial and operational performance monitoring
* Ensure strong commercial awareness across plant operations
* Coach and support staff, encouraging engagement and continuous improvement
* Help bring structure, accountability, and clarity to the department
About You
Essential:
* Experience within construction, engineering, or plant hire
* Proven experience in an Office Manager or similar operational role
* Strong people leadership skills with the ability to influence, engage, and motivate others
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
* Resilient, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership and initiative
Desirable:
* Experience using Coins ERP, InSphire, Syrinx, or similar plant hire / business management systems
