Our client, a leading entity in the automotive industry, is currently seeking a Materials Design Engineer for a contract role based in Warwickshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for materials design and development to contribute to innovative automotive projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting research and studying the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic materials
* Performing experiments and computer modelling to develop materials with new or enhanced properties
* Determining ways to strengthen or combine materials for use in a variety of products and applications
* Testing materials to ensure they meet specifications for mechanical strength, ductility, and resistance to various conditions
* Recommending materials that offer reliable performance in diverse environments
* Ensuring products meet all quality and safety standards through rigorous testing
* Managing projects or processes and working independently with minimal supervision
* Coaching and reviewing the work of junior professionals
Job Requirements:
* Experience in materials science or engineering within the automotive industry
* Advanced knowledge of material properties and computer modelling techniques
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage projects independently and mentor junior team members
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* A relevant degree in materials science, materials engineering, or a related field is preferred
