About The Role
To be accountable for all aspects of day‑to‑day management of the property, including health, safety, environmental and financial governance whilst promoting the CBRE brand and profile and developing effective client/tenant working relationships.
Role Specific Particulars
The property is a large shopping centre based in Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will be part of a site team of eight and will report directly to the Head of Operations. This is an essential role within the centre.
The shopping centre is 906,000 sq ft with over 125 retailers, 3 office blocks & 2 multi‑story car parks.
Scope: support the day‑to‑day operations of the shopping centre including all centre compliance and PPM.
Role Focus: Statutory compliance, contractor management, and PPM.
What You’ll Do: Commerciality
* Work with the Centre Team and Head of Operations to support and coordinate the management and maintenance of technical assets, systems and building fabric of the centre.
* Oversee the management of the Hard Services contract, undertaking monthly contractor review meetings and measuring performance through agreed KPIs. Establish and manage improvement plans as required.
* Ensure site activities are compliant with managing agent, owner, insurance and legislative requirements.
* Manage the centre’s shop fitting process from project management instruction to retail delivery.
* Optimise plant and ensure all inspections under PMA are carried out and documentation is maintained to comply with all provisions within the PMA.
* Maintain technical data on client systems including Meridian, Deepki and E‑log books and any other systems introduced by CBRE or the client.
* Undertake the role of Duty Manager as required.
* Carry out other duties in accordance with the needs of the business.
* Preferred experience within a Shopping Centre environment.
Compliance
* Be responsible for the control of all activities relating to the property, reporting and taking action as appropriate in accordance with site rules and lease agreements in place.
* Compile and maintain records relating to the property (e.g., asset register, plans, plant testing) and complete any required actions in a timely manner.
* Ensure full compliance of all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and adherence to corporate and legal responsibilities, and the effective use of the Health, Safety and Environmental management system to maintain relevant records.
* Ensure appropriate contracts or purchase orders are in place, monitored and reviewed on a quarterly basis for the property.
* Support the Senior Facilities Manager/Building Manager to ensure an appropriate standard of Crisis Management plan is in place for the property, tested and reviewed annually.
* Liaise with local authorities and statutory bodies as appropriate.
* Proactively manage risk and deal with insurance issues relating to the property, regarding both public and statutory requirements.
* Maintain and control all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and operational issues for major works programmes within the property.
What You’ll Need
* Experience within the facilities management sector or a service‑driven environment.
* Experience of working with or for a Managing Agent.
* Demonstrated experience of successfully delivering on targets agreed with colleagues, occupiers and the client.
* Proven ability to understand and analyse data and create/recommend solutions to problems.
* Ability to work with a broad spectrum of internal and external contacts.
* IOSH or NEBOSH accredited.
